About the Role

As an Operating Engineer Electrical Auxiliary & Automation, you contribute directly to the energy transition by ensuring that offshore grid connection assets are safe, reliable, and maintainable from day one. This role bridges international project execution at the yard with the future operational organization.

Phase 1: Yard Assignment in Singapore/Batam

During the first 2 to 3 years, you will work on site in Singapore/Batam as a Site Inspector Electrical Auxiliary & Automation. You will represent Operational Readiness within the project team, reviewing construction and commissioning activities from an operations perspective.

Phase 2: Operational Readiness in the Netherlands

After your yard assignment, you will return to the Netherlands and join Operational Readiness Engineering in Arnhem to translate your practical experience into structural improvements for future offshore assets and support smooth handovers.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Operational Readiness on site for electrical auxiliary and automation topics.
  • Perform technical walkdowns for systems such as LV switchgear, MCCs, UPS systems, and batteries.
  • Participate in mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, FAT/SAT, and functional testing.
  • Review technical documentation, as-built drawings, and O&M manuals.
  • Capture lessons learned and support knowledge transfer to the operational organization.

Requirements

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Energy Technology, Mechatronics or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical auxiliary systems, LV distribution, automation, SCADA/PLC systems, and commissioning.
  • Willingness to relocate temporarily to Singapore/Batam for approximately 2 to 3 years.
  • Ability to travel and work in offshore environments.

  • Represent Operational Readiness within the project team on site for electrical auxiliary and automation topics.

  • Perform technical walkdowns and verifications for systems such as LV switchgear, MCCs, UPS systems, and batteries.

  • Participate in mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning, HAT/SAT, and functional testing.

  • Identify and substantiate risks or deviations that may impact operability, maintainability, or safety.

  • Capture lessons learned and support knowledge transfer from the yard to the operational organization.

Vereisten

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Energy Technology, Mechatronics or equivalent experience.

  • Hands-on experience with electrical auxiliary systems, LV distribution, automation, and SCADA/PLC systems.

  • Experience interpreting single-line diagrams, schematics, and loop drawings.

  • Willingness to relocate temporarily to Singapore/Batam for approximately 2 to 3 years.

  • Willingness to travel and work in offshore environments, including medical suitability.
